Anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest…(Hebrews 4)

Hmmm. Something about that concept: in order to rest…you must stop working…sounds so simple …yet so easy to forget. Funny how we try to rest and have fun while our mind can still be going 100 directions. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and that as you “make every effort to rest” and enjoy food, friends, and family – you don’t forget to stop working (physically, mentally, emotionally, etc, etc, etc.). Much Love.

Tears can be the greatest thing sometimes. Like shedding, they make room for new growth. After they pour out, its like you can breathe a little easier, like some weight has been lifted. That’s been my experience anyway. I don’t know why but I haven’t been able to cry lately. I get like that sometimes. Its not that I have a good reason to cry…I’m just kind of craving that brokenness – that sweet vulnerability that you feel when all your walls are down. Brooke Fraser’s new CD, Albertine, is amazing. Her voice is airy and angelic and if you are looking for some new music – this is it.  Its just raw.  The lyrics are gripping.  Allow me to whet your appetite…

If I flee from greenest pastures,
would you leave to look for me?
Forfeit glory to come after
‘Til I only dwell in Thee

Dang…Isnt’ that gut-renching? Okay, maybe you have to hear it. Picture this: she’s playing at the piano (no other instruments), barefoot (cause that just adds something) and singing/worshipping in her New Zealand accent.  Just get the CD. I can’t explain it any better.

What is this? I wanted a blog…was super-excited to start one…then I sit down to type and all of a sudden, I get all giggly-girly and can’t think of anything to say. My cheeks are flushed and I’m just looking down at the keyboard…I feel kind of like I’m in 4th grade. Just so you know – let me just say up-front that I am really big on using “…” and “-” so you will see tons of those in my posts. Boy this first post is going stupendous – I can see the multitudes flocking in… Well, I’m gonna try this again tomorrow. Just needed to get my feet wet….Get my confidence up. Don’t judge me by my first post. Thanks.
