My blog was getting a little too serious there for a minute…so this is my attempt at lightening it up. I cannot stand going to the dentist…and today, you guessed it, was my lucky day. The worst part is that metal, sharp thing that they scrape all over your teeth. I mean they don’t even warm you up with something else – nope, they just start off the whole experience with the scrapey thing. Its like fingernails on a chalkboard.

My face must have shown exactly how I was feeling ’cause the girl kept saying…”Are you okay? Your eyes look like you’re in pain.” I wasn’t really in much physical pain – I just don’t like my teeth being scraped by someone using a sharp, metal thing. I keep waiting for her hand to slip off my tooth and jab straight through my cheek. To make this all worse – my husband is like the poster child for the dentist office. Everytime he goes – they go on and on about how wonderful his teeth are. Of course, he “gently” rubs this in about a dozen times. You know what the hygienist said to me at my last visit? “Have you always had problems with your teeth?” (I was thinking, “What?! Do I have problems with my teeth/What the heck are you talking about??) Did I mention that I really don’t like going to the dentist?

All in all, I mostly survived today’s visit. Don’t be too happy for me, though…they want to see me again in 4 weeks for some more “work”. Lucky me. I can hardly wait.

ps – I just had my husband proof my post and you know what he said, “You don’t like the scrapey thing? I love the scrapey thing!” Seriously, though, don’t you think he’s taking it just a little too far?

Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

Matthew 11:4-6

Isn’t that kind of strange…That Jesus would say – ‘Go and tell the good things that are happening and don’t be offended’. I thought about that…being offended because good things are happening. It seems kind of ironic but I think many of us do it. I know I do. Its like sometimes I get to thinking that someone didn’t deserve the good thing that happened to them…like they didn’t work as hard as I did….I’m just being honest. I grew up kind of learning and observing – you get what you deserve/what you worked for. I just kinda forgot all my shortcomings. God save me from myself! Help me to never forget that I am just the blind, lame, deaf, poor, dead, leper that you saved. Thank you for not giving me what I deserve. Change me from the inside out.
