My Mind’s Eye

“…but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:2

That mind is a tricky thing…affecting the way we see just about everything.

Scary thing is – alot of times the way we have it decided in our mind – is just flat out wrong.

Like opinions, for example, we base them on experiences and a host of other things…

but sometimes, we just are still wrong.

But it’s so hard to change what you have made up in your mind…

Anyway,

Change my picture of you; Change my picture of me, Change my picture of them

This has been my heart’s desire lately…

Seriously!!

I think I heard this line first from Carole Turner.

For real, though, I’m adding to my list of “books to read” much faster than I’m crossing them off…

Right now I’m reading book 2 in the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers and OMG!! It is unbelievable.

Definitely will stay with me for a long time…if not forever.

Other books I’m hoping to get to very soon:

1. The Shack

2. The Great Divorce

3. Barbarian Way

4. Anonymous

there’s more…I’m just forgetting them right now…

Anyway, see what I mean?

What are you reading?

The view is changing…

photo1So Sage has decided there’s more to life than just rolling and crawling around on the floor…she’s starting to “pull up”.

(there’s a lesson in there somewhere, I can feel it πŸ™‚ )

Words

I am a lover of words.

Books, quotes, journaling…I just love words.

I read this quote from Anne Jackson’s blog and wanted to pass it on…

I have thought about it ALOT.

What is without periods of rest will not endure.

Ovid, Roman poet

Can someone explain that to my babies, please? πŸ™‚ OK…and to me too…

Did I tell you there have been cows in our neighborhood?

mail51

Seriously…

it has been hilarious. Apparently a fence where these cows live had a tree fall on it and well…they have found their way to our neighborhood πŸ™‚

I think they were on our street 3 times last week.

The best, though, was when I went outside to throw out the trash and there was one in my yard right near our swingset.

I’m jumped a little πŸ™‚

Fun times…

Ever feel this way πŸ™‚ I do ALL THE TIME…

IΒ was reading Proverbs 31 this morning andΒ 4 thoughts jumped off the page to me:

1. She was energetic.

2. She laughed alot.

3. She was a working mom.

4. She spoke with kind words.

Wow –

I fall so short…

(ESPECIALLY WITH NUMBER 1)

If He did it for her, He can do it for me…

He is my strength.

Tunnels

Sage got this cool tunnel for Christmas from my in-laws.

The other day, I climbed inside with Brie…

mail4

And from the inside, I had this amazing perspective…

while I was in the tunnel, I couldn’t see the laundry that needed to be folded, the dishes that were piled in the sink, or the dinner that was begging to be cooked.

All I could see was my daughter and none of the things on my to-do list…

It was so nice.

Wow – what a great gift…

Stink!

I hate it when I miss awesome sales –

mail3

you know with 2 kids…you have to shop the bargains.

I know you can’t see it too clear in this picture – but this was a $10.00 off coupon from Children’s Place. It expired Sunday and I pulled up at the store at 6:01. Literally, the girl was deadbolting the door while I was parking. I watched her do it. Bummer.

Dreaming…

I am such a dreamer. Doesn’t matter than I’m almost 30…I still have big, almost child-like dreams…

mail

For example (and this is just one of my small dreams), I want to visit Israel and Jerusalem one day…

My dreams are like passions – almost like obsessions – they are like something I feel like I have to do…it’s just something I feel from my gut.

Kinda hard to put into words without sounding creepy πŸ™‚

Anyway –

on this day when we honor the man who had a dream, I couldn’t help but notice this on my way to work.

mail2

It’s the sign for our church. (Yes I was driving and using the camera)

The dream?

To be a healing place for a hurting world.

What an awesome dream.

I hope that even if I can’t change the whole world, I can change my world…

What’s your dream?

ps – check out the new hair growth in my picture…thank you pregnancy #2. happy to bring you comic relief πŸ™‚
